LEARNING FROM TV
When I can’t sleep at night, one of the things I like to do is watch infomercials. Most of them crack me up. There is the one with the wand like thing that is for Chicago hair removal, and of course there is always Tony Little’s Gazelle. I laughed pretty hard when they referenced Tony Little and the Gazelle in Juno when I saw it in the theater last month. Also, how could you forget the Total Gym, which Chuck Norris hocks late at night? Another classic infomercial is the Ronco one with the rotisserie oven that claims you just need to ‘set it, and forget it.’ Infomercials are not my only option for when I can’t sleep though. Usually if I read a couple of chapters from a book I will grow tired pretty soon. Not that reading makes me sleepy; it is just that if I read while lying in bed it helps me fall asleep sometimes. Another thing that I to do when I can’t sleep is play videogames. Sometimes just the mind numbing activity of playing videogames makes me tired. Oddly enough, the thing that puts me to sleep faster than anything is going downstairs and watching television and falling asleep on the couch down there.
